Description
TEVIS HODGE JR-
Tevis Hodge Jr. was born in Virginia and began playing blues guitar at age 12, inspired by his Southern Black heritage and a deep love for Black American music. Drawing from Piedmont, Delta, Texas, urban, and country blues, his style also touches on jazz, jug band, folk, and old-time novelty tunes.
Tevis’s performances blend tradition with originality—his covers are infused with personal flair, and his originals sit comfortably alongside the classics. By 13, he was performing at school events, open mics, and on the street. Since then, he’s opened for artists like Robert Cray and Living Colour, and shared the stage with Peter Yarrow, Baby Gramps, Norman Sylvester, Mary Flower, and Ural Thomas. A 4-time Muddy Award winner (2023, 2024), Tevis has been a standout at festivals, markets, clubs, and more.
"Tevis plays various styles of acoustic blues, honoring the pioneers of the genre. Adding his own take to the genre, Tevis has perfected his traditional approach, captivating audiences big and small; on stage and on the street."
DUMPSTER JOE-
" Dumpster Joe and the Boys play 1920s and 30s Jazz, Country Blues and Jugband tunes on res-o-phonic guitar and cello. A good time is guaranteed once they get to serenadin' & syncopatin'! "
